Frequently Asked Questions
What is a rego inspection or eSafety check?
A rego inspection, also known as an eSafety check or pink slip, is a mandatory safety inspection for certain vehicles in NSW. It confirms your vehicle is roadworthy and meets minimum safety standards. If it passes, the result is sent electronically to Transport for NSW so you can renew your registration. It’s quick, essential and helps keep unsafe cars off the road.
Who needs a rego check in NSW?
If your light vehicle is more than five years old, you’ll likely need a rego inspection before renewing your registration. Your renewal notice will tell you if it’s required. These inspections are standard for cars, utes, vans and bikes — and must be done at an authorised inspection station. It’s the best way to make sure your vehicle is safe and compliant.
What’s the difference between a pink slip and a blue slip?
A pink slip is for vehicles that are currently registered and need a routine safety inspection to renew. A blue slip is more comprehensive and applies to unregistered vehicles, cars with cancelled rego, or those coming from interstate. Blue slips may also be required for heavily modified vehicles. Both ensure safety compliance, but blue slips involve more checks and paperwork.

Pink & Blue Slips Sorted
Need a pink slip? We’ll check all the essentials: brakes, tyres, suspension, lights, seatbelts, emissions and more. If anything needs attention, we can usually take care of it on the spot.
Importing something special? Rego expired? Modified beyond stock? We’re also licensed to carry out blue slips for vehicles that need a bit more paperwork to get back on the road. Talk to our team, and we’ll get it sorted.
